Oil Prices Remained Elevated Amid Middle East Tensions
Brent crude prices remained above USD 102/bbl on 5 Oct-26, while another crude benchmark traded around USD 91/bbl, amid heightened tensions in the Middle East. Saudi-backed forces launched a military operation against Houthi-controlled areas in Yemen, raising concerns over disruptions to the Bab el-Mandeb Strait, a key oil shipping route. Meanwhile, OPEC+ agreed to keep production quotas unchanged for Nov-26, limiting additional supply amid tight market conditions. The elevated oil prices could increase Indonesia’s energy subsidy burden and add imported inflation pressure. (Emitennews)

Telkom Indonesia (TLKM) Planned Share Buyback Following InfraCo Spin-off

TLKM planned to buy back shares from eligible shareholders who voted against the Phase 2 spin-off of its wholesale fiber connectivity business to PT Telkom Infrastruktur Indonesia (TIF) at the EGMS on 30 Sep-26. The buyback price was set at IDR 2,290/sh, based on TLKM’s closing price on the EGMS date, with eligible shareholders required to submit their intention to sell by 5 Oct-26. Payment will be made at the earliest of seven business days after Ministry of Law approval of TIF’s capital increase related to the spin-off, while TLKM stated that the buyback would not have a material negative impact on its business.
