Marketplace PPh 22 Collection Could Be Delayed Further

The govt. may further delay the implementation of 0.5% PPh 22 collection on online sellers through marketplaces if economic conditions and purchasing power remain weak. The policy has already been postponed from 1 Aug-26 to 1 Nov-26, with the govt. targeting 6% economic growth by year-end after 2Q26 GDP growth slowed to 5.29% YoY from 5.61% in 1Q26. The previously appointed marketplaces—Tokopedia, Shopee, Lazada, and Blibli—will have their tax-collector appointments revoked and reissued, while any PPh 22 already collected will be refunded to sellers. Antofagasta Cuts Copper Production Guidance on Extreme Weather

Antofagasta Plc lowered its 2026 copper production guidance to 625,000–655,000 tonnes, from 650,000–700,000 tonnes, after extreme rain and snow disrupted its flagship Los Pelambres mine in Chile. The mine has been gradually ramping up following a temporary shutdown, while significant snow remains at high-altitude areas. Despite the disruption, 1H26 EBITDA increased 27% YoY, supported by higher copper prices. The supply disruption highlights growing weather-related operational risks in Chile, particularly as El Niño is expected to strengthen through year-end. With copper prices near record highs and demand supported by electrification and AI data centers, tighter supply could provide further support to copper prices. (Bloomberg)
