Oil Prices Remained Elevated Amid Middle East Tensions
Brent crude prices remained above USD 102/bbl on 5 Oct-26, while another crude benchmark traded around USD 91/bbl, amid heightened tensions in the Middle East. Saudi-backed forces launched a military operation against Houthi-controlled areas in Yemen, raising concerns over disruptions to the Bab el-Mandeb Strait, a key oil shipping route. Meanwhile, OPEC+ agreed to keep production quotas unchanged for Nov-26, limiting additional supply amid tight market conditions. The elevated oil prices could increase Indonesia’s energy subsidy burden and add imported inflation pressure. (Emitennews)
