Otoritas Jasa Keuangan (OJK) to Adjust Bank Dividend Payouts Based on IT Investment Needs
OJK will require banks to strengthen IT systems and cybersecurity, with dividend payout ratios adjusted based on each bank’s technology investment requirements. Banks will not be allowed to distribute 100% of net profit and must retain sufficient funds to strengthen systems against cyberattacks, scams, and other digital risks. The policy is part of OJK’s 2026–2030 banking roadmap, which prioritizes institutional strengthening, digital resilience, financial deepening, sustainable finance, and risk-based supervision.
